I love smart visualizations (like our timeline on LifeSnapz).  I came across a great site – FlipFlopFlyBall.com by Craig Robinson- that helps to put some (mostly) baseball-related statistics into perspective.  I especially like how simple and elegant these visualizations are.  Here are two of them:
